    Hi,
I have been following the German lamp site called www.petrolicht.de and what is immediately obvious is that these are not just get togethers for lamp lighting, they are also seem to be food and drink festivals. A few of the photos show Petromax lamps/heaters with devices attached for cooking sausages. The name on these attachments is bravosa 500, I have seached the net and can find nothing about them.
They can be seen on the Sassenberg 2012 pages in parts 1 and 3, photos p1030193 and p1030203 in part 1 show good detail and in part 3 a photo at the bottom of the page shows them in action.
What I would like to know is, does anyone know where I can get them from.

    Seasons greetings to all.
    Regards LenG

Len, I'm sorry but I've never seen those supports/holders for the sausages (the ones with the actual text Bravosa 500), but the heating attachment itself is available on e.g. Pelam (Look here)
It's just a perforated metal cylinder you use instead of the incandescent mantle.
I've also seen it being use with the mantle still left inside.
Some sort of holders like the "Bravosa's" shouldn't be too difficult to put together yourself. I guess they just holds the sausages in position and collects the juices.

The item on ebay is for the top of the lamp and would be for pots and pans. I have looked at making my own attachments and with the machinery I have, with a bit of thought it could be done.It looks as though it is made of aluminium with stainless spikes. The heating part I can make from stainless mesh. I just like the idea of summer evenings with a pint, bangers, and a few lamps going. And here we are only just into winter. Plenty of time to do it.
