Well, I now have a foot in another gas pressure forum. hmmm..I guess that means I must have Three feet ??? I picked up my first lamp today. I already have a crowd with lanterns, stoves, an iron I bought about 2 weeks ago, one heater.....hmmm...one torch...too many projects and too little time. The lamp,a Quick-lite, I can't find a date on it. I think its an earlier model pre-mid 1920s ??? I'm a total newby with lamps but I think I'll have little problem getting her to work. On the collar above the fount is a number 1064434 is this a date code?? Is the collar material bakelite? I'll need a shade holder and shade as it had been electrified and converted to a bow type shade holder. I don't know what shade would be proper for it or if the shade holder needs to be any specific type?Would it have had a screen around the mantles to keep the bugs out ??? I will be thrilled to receive any feedback about my new favorite project so thanks to all, ahead of time !
I have a photo now but it's 587KB too big... not sure how to proceed ? If cameras and computers ran on gasoline they would be much easier for me work with !!!

I had to take the lamp outside because that is the only way my camera will work anymore. In the sunlight I could plainly see the 1919 pat. date.
That is a pre 1924 CQ., you will need to get a pump and they turn up on Ebay often, as do the shade holders. I'm not certain what the number represents, but it may be a production number. The handle is made from some type of fibre. The link below shows Christer's example of this lamp and there is a photo which shows the shade holder. A bug screen can be added if you can find one. The lamp should restore well enough, Jeff. http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/827
Thanks Jeff,I know about the pump, I just got a short pump for an iron. I guess all shades are pretty much interchangeable through the years ?
Any of the Coleman shades will do and shades from other makes of pressure lamps will also be fine, as they can take the heat. The link below shows my pumps, the large brass one is still made by the Amish, who sell it at a reasonable price and that type of pump also turns up on Ebay.
