David Unfortunately I'll not be taking part, I'm always far too busy to give it my best. The panel is yet to be finalised but there have been whispers
Nigella Lawson would be good. (thinks) Nigella visits Annfield Plain - would that count as missionary work, then... Anyway, I think there ought to be a special prize for anyone using a proper British camping oven - not one of those US contrivances that flap about like a sh!thouse door in a gale...
David Steve lives near Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall (well same county I think) he could call in and ask him. Mind you we don't want any blokes. Been a few Kubex ovens on eprey lately, that with a Thermidor stove would fit the bill nicely. I think a stove may provide too much heat for the job, I may make some long legs for mine and stand it over a lamp.
No, I was thinking of a Rippingilles proper camping oven - and not one of those wickie craps, either. Steve? - who he..?
Hi Gary, I will be there, but as I am combining trip with visits to family, with wife, with much baggage, and with loads of junk to drop off at various points on the way; all you are likely to see is me, 1 stove, 1 lamp, sleeping bag and a bottle of Sloe Gin! Looking forward to it - Steve.
I am planning on coming along for the afternoon session Gary, my trial scones were not likely to win any prizes, however I will be Baking/Incinerating.
Yummy, Yummy, Yummy Will they be as good on the day Only turning up and tasting will tell Hope to be there - Steve.
Anyone attending that has a Tilley reflector to fit a PL53 that is up for sale or swap please bring it - Steve.
Can I put a couple of items on my wanted list 3 legs for an Optimus 00 (folding leg type) Top hood for a Bialaddin/Vapalux 310
Hi Just over a week to go, need to get an idea of numbers. Gis a shout if you think you'll be coming.
If the snow clears I will try and make the journey but I'm not 100% sure yet. I'll bring a couple of lamps and stoves with me if I do. Is table space provided or do I need to bring my own small table?
Hi Plenty of table space, first come first served. Steve Plenty of food to be had round there, this area topped a list of take aways per capita or per square mile IIRC. Indian, Chinese, Thai, Fish and Chips, Pizza all within 2mins walk I kid you not. But you may not need it, anyone who's been to this meet will know.
About to start packing a few bits together for tomorrow. Is there anyone attending tomorrow who has an Aladdin loxon chimney for around about a tenner that could bring it? I'm in need of one and it would save me getting one off ebay. Thanks and I'll see you all tomorrow.
Hi A meet is nothing without the people that attend, so big thank you to those that turned up. Good crack as usual. Sory no photos from me, didn't have a camera and wouldn't have had time even if I had.
Oh man, thats a pity. I just joined this site and find I missed this meet. I'm only 3 mile away from it too Oh well, maybe next time
