Well I won another bowlfire, no. 3 so will be doing a refurb job on it. So far I have it stripped down and have tested the fount for leaks and happily it is fine.

I decided to strip off the paint and re-do it from scratch as it was in such poor condition. The tank seems relatively ding free so that's good.

The bowl was in bad condition so that will be stripped down and re-plated, hopefully a better job than last time and I will take my time with the prep!

This fire seems to have a different handle than my other two and a different filler cap? Would it be an earlier model?

    Here are some before pics...

    Ready for paint...

Will update as and when I can for those interested. Also I may buy just one more of these as I seem to have a thing about getting things in Fours (have 4 M320's as well:shock: )

Good find, nice to pick one up with the guard ,it is earlier than the stepped handle bracket version,,,the filler pictured is the same as my T10 table lamp,my bowlfire like yours has the same filler as the later version...no idea which is correct though...

That's a Type II bowlfire, characterised by the uncranked lower handle bracket with the vertical strut. The earlier type I also has those features and, in addition, has an angled spout on the filler cup with a pip at the back to engage in a small hole in the reflector. There's also an alloy block on the air intake.

Thanks David, I will have to look out for a Type 1 to complete the set!
