Hi all. my korean lantern collector friend, he did cutting lantern nipple( mewa, original petromax, made in china nipple). i have china lantern, and i had experience over flame show by lantern. resaon is nipple hole is wide . Brass melting temperature of 1080'c. so i think nipple hole trnasform is not affected by the temperature. we think about wide nipple hole by niddle. anchor nipple hole (0.2mm)is very short. you can see under picture. so by niddle up and down repeat working , nipple hole is damage. how about your thinking it? sorry , my english not good original mewa nipple cutting pic. left orginal petromax nipple right china nipple. Hi Gunsoo Very nice photos and I think you are absolutely right. The "Anchor"-nipple looks like the drilling came much too close to the top and therefor the needle-hole dont have much material support the needle, so the wear and tear will take much shorter time, than for the "Meva"-nipple. It doesn't look like there is anything to do about it so I would just stay away from that "Anchor"-nipple you show in the picture to the right and find another nipple in better quality. Claus C
Hi Claus C. Thanks your good thinking about it. maybe we will make it good nipple in korea. i think good quality has it. Gunsoo
Hi Gunsoo If you are starting a new production of niples and needles then good quality is always welcome Please let us see the result here on the CPL when you are ready Claus C
