It's bad enough to be a collector... but Oh My! the research is really addicting! I am thoroughly enjoying finding about the history of all this! I spent over 12 hrs on just one lamp yesterday... not "retrofitting" but researching. It's like putting together a puzzle but having to go on a scavenger hunt to find the pieces first. I'll return soon but must eat now.....
I too thoroughly enjoy researching my lamps. As I usually buy lamps on Ebay, I spend the time waiting for them to arrive doing the research, trying to find out everything about them, the maker, the different models, any relevant patents, instructions, etc. The real enjoyment starts when the lamp arrives; getting it to run as well as during it's day. If you're a subscriber, there is a LOT of information in the Reference Library. Please tell us about the lamp you are researching (with pictures too) as we may be able to add to your research. Dan
Yes the research can be interesting. There is a lot to be found and I have probably found most of it already but there is always more and two or three prople worrying around a lamp maker can make some intersting discoveries. What are you currently looking at? ::Neil::
