Have fired Anchor 500CP lamp. I've got it (and another one, the same brand) from a girl in the Owl Mountains, or similar strange place.
Under the chrome are small pimples, so polishing, waxing, cleaning inner part of the hood, applying Brunox epoxy anti-rust and silver heat-proof paint.

It was keeping pressure for a couple of days, so OK.

Firing proved that is leak between lower and upper part of the vapouriser -- some fire appeared. Tightening with the spanner, leak decreased, but not vanished totally.

The mantle had a orange 'halo' and is not glowing whole, but lower part only, on the upper part, slightly over 'equator' is a black ring.
It tried to dim (pumping-up helped) and there was moment of pulsing of the light.
Smoke after curing of anti-rust and fireproof paint has gone.
Mostly unwelcome is ring of soot on the upper part of mantle. I don't want to buy stainless burner -- it will cost more, than both of lamps...

I have found that a leak from a gland nut can be solved by coating the thread which the nut screws onto with soap from a bar of soap and then tightening the gland nut properly.

It looks like the vapouriser's jet is enlarged, Jeff.

    Soap opera? ;)
Thanx Jeff, I was thinking that it should be at least muffler repair paste. Another thing, which come to my mind, was a sealing paste for water and gas pipes, but I was expecting heavy stench -- I have no idea, how it would work with high temp. Another one -- silicone grease with particles of copper... Soap -- how simple!

I hope original Petromax will fit -- thread, etc. (pricker needle from the P-max is OK). If so -- good, I have a spare nozzle in repair kit.

One thing I forget to mention: fuel cap is cannibalized ring nut from water filter (the ring, which you'll screw on the end of the tap HERE is the pic ).
Petromax manometer has different thread (but it was OK for the another Anchor, newer one, with red knobs)...

So I cut the plate from copper, soldered it into the ring nut and applied P-max washer. :)
