    Hello.

I'll go to Belgium the next week with car, from Hungary across the Austria, Germany and Belgium, to the Kortrijk city. I'd like to buy 1-2 pressure lantern, from this country. Do you have any ideas, where can i find interesting lanterns?

There are at least two Belgian members - Tracer and Wim. I think you'd be better off sending them a PT each rather than gamble on either of them spotting your thread (which would have better with 'Belgium' in the title...)

Did I hear someone calling my name?
Hi Roy, There are not that many lanterns for sale in Belgium, most of mine come from The UK, Holland, France and even the US. I did find a couple of (fairly recent) Coleman's, an Anchor and 5 Petromaxes (and 2 Optimus 300's, still struggling to get these to work as they should) but it took many years to find them! Petromaxes are still offered sometimes on the online auction sites but these must have been gold plated if you see what I mean....... . I like to visit flea markets aka carboot sales but one hardly ever sees a pressure lantern. Wick lamps are far more common over here. I'll try to find out if there are any "rommelmarkten" (as we call them over here, rommel means junk!) next weekend close to Kortrijk and post them here.

    Best regards,

    Wim

Must have been a long time ago you last visited Belgium, Wim! ;) There are still a handfull of places that have their weekly market, but not that many. Most popular items for sale are cloths, children's toys and CD/DVD's. So far, I have not yet found a fleamarket in/near Kortrijk, it will depend on how far Roy wants to travel out of Kortrijk. (BTW, some local markets are not posted on 'tinternet, so I don't know about these.

    Best regards,

    Wim

There is supposed to be a regular Sunday fleamarket in Waterloo and I know there used to be a big antiques fair in Brugges but that will be only on a few days each year I guess. ::Neil::
