Perhaps Auer is a reference to Carl Auer von Welsbach.

That was made in Chicago USA by the Gloria Light Company at some time in the 1920s. The parts are quite distinctive although I have not see this particular model before. It is very like a model R but that is a torch lighting lamp with a filler/inlet valve and yours has a match lighting generator and a built in pump. An interesting lantern that will get added to the lists in the PLC.

Here is an image of a Gloria model R. Lamp and image are owned by Terry Marsh in Chicago.

You can see this is the same basic lantern but with torch lighting generator and without a pump.

Your lamp has obviously been exported by Gloria for re branding as Auer and I would assume that will mean somewhere in continental Europe. We have an Auer which appears to be Italian already in the galleries but I supect there is a German retailer behind the Auer brand. ::Neil::

    Hi Neil,

    Thanks for your information.
I found the lamp in Spain. As you have written, the lamp was probably built by Gloria Light Company for Europe.

    Greetings Andreas

There are a few Auer mantles in the mantle gallery and they seem to be Austrian made. That sort of suggests the Auer brand is Austrian or perhaps German. ::Neil::

Maybe it was from the period where Austria were a part of Germany.

Auer is a German company, although founded by an Austrian.

But I'm not sure if Auer Feyer would be the same Auer company.
