Still havn't been there yet. Only lived next door for 40 years and still unlikely to ever go. It is mega-expensive to get in, horrendously bad traffic congestion, parking and stupid prices for absolutely everything, from entance fee to a burger    . Give me the Ashover Festival anyday    - Steve

    Hi !
That was 2003 when I had a sales pitch down at Dorset with Len Ralph. 10 days of selling and the Dorset dust was horrendous , no rain in those days !
2004 and 2005 I was there with Len and renata selling lamps even got Kenny over from Ireland in 2004 helping for first 3 days.

Its an amazing place to go to ,but all a bit rough and ready or prehaps that should be written " rough and rank " the toilet blocks are not for the feint hearted best taking your own !

I sold 140 solar lamps in 5 days at the auto jumble pitch in 2003 ! Yes some of those lamps in boxes were destine for the scrap heap , the challenge the collectors had was working out which lamps were a goer !!

To give collectors an idea of costs .

In 2003 a double sales pitch was the minimum if you turned your caravan sideways and transit van and the cost £400 plus vat . , then theres fuel there and back from Ipswich , cost to hire transit for ten days with hook on back for 20 foot caravan. Grub and alot of use of mobile phone getting more spares sent to site daily from Tilley lamp company !In those days Tilley were really helpfull !
How much would it cost in 2013 for pitch to sell lamps ? just forget it !!
    Mick

    Hi Ray.
The engine is a blackstone. It runs on kero and that is its original blow lamp. Wish it was part of my engine collection, but due to lack of room and the wife it wont be.

As Nigel said, it's original, or atleast an original type of heater for horizontal hot bulb engines like that one.
If you visit CCS, you will see that they pop up there since many people mistake them for large stoves.
They were, atleast in Sweden, generally delivered with the engines even if the heaters themselves often were made by Sievert or Primus as in this catalogue image of a Torps bruk engine (I think. It was a while ago I scanned it):
