Part no. 90 lead washer replacement

    Hi anyone knows what size/number of the viton O-rings are used as a replacement for the lead washer for the generator to the fount.

    I think I have heard of someone trying to use rubber as a replacement for the lead washer but I don't think it was very successful. Lead is the best option for that joint. It does mean you can't undo and tighten again, so alignment the first time is important.

    I'd say Optimus or similar Petromax and clones. I find that modern lead gaskets are just a bit thin so I'm looking for a thicker solution. I'm kinda a purist so lead it will be.

    The Fettlebox (me) is adding this to the shop soon. They are 2mm thick lead. If anyone needs any before they go in the shop drop me a PT.

    I make my own from lead sheeting I found at the scrap metal dealer. All you need is a good hole punch set. It is only a bit over 1mm thick so sometimes I have to use two. Having 2mm ones in the Fettlebox sounds good Ross.

    They will be 45p with the CPl discount code in the Trading Post - Postage to UK/Europe is £1 & £1.38 everywhere else. That will cover around 8 washers.
