First generation 1957 type Optimus 1550 with riveted model plate, needle dial reading both Optimus and Made in Sweden and portion of fount paper label. Don't know if the Primus frosed globe is from before or after the Primus buyout of 1962 by Optimus. The other interesting detail about the lantern is that a fuel cap pressure gauge was not supplied. The spark lighter is of a type often seen on Coleman Canada model 200 lanterns from the late 50's and early 60's.
This is the second (or third) variation of this model and will date to some time in the very early 1960s. The first variation did not have the Arabic writing on the label. To start with, the pressure gauge filler cap was only offered as an option. Obviously not chosen by the purchaser of this lamp.
