hello all here is a huge Unic n°13 (72 cm hight) here near of n°7 which is already a big lamp. I had to rebuild the inflation valve. This kind of lamp is inflated with a bicycle's pump. I have some work because of holes on the fount, fortunately on the fount's skirt, this does not affect the sealing. And I just break the gasoline wire near of the burner the lamp is fitted with a four intake n°4/5 burner Unfortunately is missing the glass and the glass holder but I think I can do one with Conny's kindly advices.
I so wish that lamps like these had made it across the pond to North America. Beautiful designs and craftsmanship!
there were many leaks to treat on this big beast very easy to light it And i gives full of light ... and also some noise, I must admit 500/700 gr is the good pressure I found an opal glass which will fit but I have to redo the shade holder now I come back soon
Is this a model 8 rather than 13? Model 13 has no reflector and the globe seems to be held with side screws but model 8 has a reflector which locates the globe and your lamp has the screw fittings for this reflector/globe holder. However 13 does seem to have a bigger tank than model 8 so maybe you are right here. It might be interesting to compare tank sizes. I have a model 8 here which I will have to dig out and post here with some measurements. ::Neil::
Yes Neil, the Unic 13 have no reflector but a glass holder and a big tank. It is fitted with the N° 4/5 burner. The frame of the n° 13 is the same as your n°8 which have the same burner that my n° 10 lamp (burner n° 3) In fact the Unic range is like a puzzle. here a picture of the glass holder that Conny sent me, you can see the burner in the gallery. Now we can see almost the complet range.
