1950s Coleman Canada 300 series blowtorch made by Butler Stampings in Ontario Canada. The 300 series torches are typified by the large bakelite fuel control knob and heavy steel fuel tanks. Earlier 90, 100 and 200 series torches have brass tanks and metal fuel knobs. All the Coleman models seen have clear coated unpainted wooden handles and a fragile water slide decal which is often missing. These torches mainly show up in Canada but are occasionally seen on auction sites in the UK so would have been exported at least there as well. The bottom left image is the remaining Coleman decal, bottom right image is of an intact decal as would have been originally on the blowtorch.
The http://blowlamp.co.uk/#Introduction site gives some further information about Butler / Coleman blowtorches, and a possible earlier date and model number for the above example.
Hi Flygt I have a butler 300,it was my first American style blowlamp/torch I have in my collection. I have used it with white gas/coleman fuel, but I am not sure if it was a paraffin/Kerosene model But the link you provide, has really helped me as my model is a 300K which is a kerosene model, many thanks Flyght I am very happy to find out more about my butler blowtorch and the fuel it was made for
