Another lantern saved from the junk yard. What is wrong with people, throwing perfectly good items like this away!? I would guess it's from the 30's or so, but would surely appreciate a better dating from those who knows better. It has been handled a bit roughly. The part which the ceramic mantle holder screws into was melted, so I assume a bad under burn, or something like that. I had to steal some parts from a scrapped Optimus 200 to make this one running. Otherwise everything was as good working and solid as you would expect from any German item. The pump leather was really hard, but since it was undamaged a couple of days in oil made it soft, expandable and well working.
Me too. There's more of these to come. For some reason I have left all my Petromaxes unattended. Guess I involuntary focus on my own countrys lamps, just as most other here seems to do.
That means I have to shy away from pressure lamps then, and only focus on wickies... Bbbbut, I don't like these! Crying my poor hart out, Wim (I did buy a wickie a few weeks ago, an UCO candle tent light with wickie insert )
Pictures we need pictures !! Nice resque Christer ! These are nice lamps. Small and nice working lights.
