Hello Everyone, I found a Coleman instant lite made in June of 1935 model #133.. Can anyone tell me it's value ? It has the org. green glass globe it is in very good condition and still has the piece of metal attached for hanging.. Thanks

I still need to clean it up.. But it is in perfect shape.. I'm not looking to sell it..just was wondering if I need to put it in a cabinet or if it is a mantel piece.. :-)
Hi Tressa, the shade is not original to the lamp, so no additional value there. Generally the prices of those style of lamps in this area are around $5 or less. Original shade, tools, instructions and original packing box will bring the price up to about the current price of a new Coleman camping lantern at your local hardware store. A new unfired condition lamp with the above mentioned tools, packing box, etc will be somewhat more.

Hi tressa, this is exactly why it is not good practice to give value evaluations! Much depends on where you're located. Some U.S. made lamps and lanterns that can be found for next to nothing on every street corner in the US might be a rarity over here in Europe and fetch high prices! Likewise, some of "our" stuff will be much more expensive your side of the pond. Rarity, condition, originality etc. also influence the value as well as the human factor; have a look at ebay listings, one day an article fetches a very high price while an almost identical item posted a few days later sells for peanuts. In the end, we all love our lamps and enjoy using them and that's what it's all about really! Best regards, Wim

I doubt you would have offended anyone by asking for a valuation - most of the time we're pretty thick-skinned around here. With all due respect, it's just a pointless question, or at least, one without an answer given there are so many variables involved. I could easily tell you the make, model and year of my car and ask you what it's worth - it's the same sort of thing...
Likewise with auction prices. You get just two people with a strong desire for one item and it will sell for silly money. Another day there might be no such people in the room and the same item may not reach its reserve - or go for peanuts. Value is like beauty.
Hi again Tressa, here's a link to a good condition model 133 in this forums gallery pages; http://www.classicpressurelamps.com/forum/showgallery.php?fid/280/ With a period correct air pressure pump, a model 355 clear borosilicate glass protector globe and a reproduction or a very scarce parchment shade you would have an excellent example of the 133 lamp. Any of the forum members here who specialize in Coleman products should have some or all of the pieces to help get your lamp to good user condition.
