At one of the last weekends we had a small light-up at my place, we were four fellow collectors and we had a nice BBQ and I had the chance to show the others some of my lamps, the photos show my british lamps, two swedish and a Hong Kong lamp are amongst them. My OL51 is missing, it was outside to illuminate the place.
Great display Stephan . Your shed is bigger than my house . My shed is very small 2m x 3m, which is why I restrict myself to six stoves and six lamps. It becomes a problem when I get a seventh that I want to keep, but the rule is - one must go . This way I try to control my addiction a little . Steve.
Great display. Nice, clean, and organized. Steve, what is that word you used ... 'control'? I don't know that word, what does it mean? Ken in NC
Very nice collection and display. The wide brim shades add a nice touch. I have a soft spot for them.
Now that is some shed Stephan just the place to enjoy good company, lamps and a snifter or three Bet your popular
Stu, when I'm at home, just make an appointment David, hurry to specsavers to get some sunglasses Ray, if you come together with Stu you'll get a snifter or three Thanks to all for the nice comments!
Sorry David, my mistake, of course you're invited too I live in the South-West of Germany in the federal state Rhineland-Palatinate in Idar-Oberstein. Bring some lamps to light - beer, wine and schnaps and something to put on the grill is my part
No problem, Stephan - I didn't need an invitation because I was driving the other two to your house...
That's starting to sound like a good idea Nein mein freund Viel bier am abend, schlechte Kopf am morgen
Thanks! Fettling takes place on the fireplace besides the shed I've fitted a sliding door at the fireplace, so I can stay warm now that it is getting colder
What does the shed look like from the outside? Firstly, just by the looks of your photos, I thought it was a room in your basement. It somehow looked more like that from the images.
Hi Christer, it's rather a party room located in a shed, my father in law errected it. On the right there is the fire place where we do BBQs and where I use to fettle lamps. It once was a hen house. I added the doors this spring.
Nice! A third little shack for a wood stove sauna to make it all complete, and I'd be down there this instance!
Here I come! Some ice cold beers in the hot sauna, then a short move along to the BBQ for some food and then another short move to round it all up at the bar in the lamp shed. 8)
Yep, that's the plan but I have to admit that the lamps are usually not stored in the party shed, they are back in the house except three or four of them still standing on the counter.
Well Ray, all I can say is that I've been to that part of Germany twice and it is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Don't tempt me because I'd go back in a heartbeat! I remember one warm summer's evening standing on the banks of the Rhine, holding hands with the woman I loved watching the moonlight dapple on the waters below... (sigh)
Yeah, a few years back, I went to a 'jet power' (model jet powered aircraft) weekend at a place called neuanahr-ahrweiler just a little north of Stephan, very nice area indeed Don't you go dropping the gauntlet now David ok
And there's your lamp post too... is it my eyes or have you painted it green since the last picture I saw of it?
Chris, David is right I've painted it green in spring Before painting the wood got wet in the steel tube that is fitted in the ground and it was nearly impossible to pull it out to store it over the winter in a dry place. Now I hope the paint will prevent the wood from swelling. We will see in a few weeks...
