1916 (ca.) Knight Light torch lighting lantern (312?)

Found in South Australia.

 

What paperwork identifies this lantern as a Sunray model ?

Thanks Neil, the information helps with the time frame of a local single mantle Gloria lantern I've been thinking of purchasing.

 

This Feb 1916 Knight Light Co. sales pamphlet indicates that the single mantel lantern was designated model No. 312 in that year. (Images from an online sales site)

 

Yes I have a copy of this paper which does give us a few model numbers. There are a lot of variations in the lanterns down the years and for most we don't know the model. The Sunray brand seems to date from the mid 1920s so it would not have been used in 1916. That 312 is a torch lighting single mantle but the Sunray is a match lighter so actually quite different although similiar in outward appearance. ::Neil::

Yes it is and the Sunray were match lighters. We simply don't have enough Gloria/Knight paper to be sure of much with these lamps. The fact that I have around 30 models I can't put model number to means there is a great deal yet to be learnt about them. ::Neil::

 

I'm about to get my greasy little hands on a 22 page book that is a catalogue of Knight Light lights.

It's more hollow wire driven but hopefully they will have some of their other stuff in it too.

I believe the book dates from 1929.
