I'll be there Stan, from Thursday to Sunday. Got my pass through a couple of weeks ago so I'm a bit more organised this year. Really looking forward to it now but like you say just hope the weather holds up.
As discussed yesterday Stan; I will be there from Thursday evening until Sunday. Looking forward to it very much . Essential supplies are being decanted from bulk to more transportable size bottles very soon. Don't tell Nigel! Cheers mate - Steve.
Hi Stan. I to will be there on thursday until sunday. Looking forward to lighting a few lamps. Dont hide the sloe gin steve. I always sleep well after two shots. Will be taking the gas stove, but dont tell anyone. Nigel
Wait until you see my new gas heater Nigel, it'll blow you away, hopefully not literally. For anyone aware of the slight kero spillage I had at Newark the smell is now gone and the caravan is liveable again. Lets just hope it doesn't happen again though hey.
Hi stan what goes off at Ashover ? stalls ? im new to these great lamps and would be interested to find out Thanks..Mark.
Hi ! Ashover is one of these events where what you see is what you get. Over the years I've attended several rallies around the country and they are all full of yellow anoraks telling you what you can and can't do and more than one official has basically said " if you don't like it ! take a hike, now and don't come back !! " When you get to ashover its just a small village surrounded by farm land and if anyone has a gang mower they can bring along as an exhibit and demonstrate its capabilities all the better !! Just turn up and bring a load of lamps just don't bring those chinese lanterns as theres alot of arable land around ! See you there ! Mick
Or 3 threads down from this one in the list is a link to last years show were you can see pictures of what goes. Or I'll just post a link [url=http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/3866
I seem to have so much to do between now and then lamp wise... Half my lamps are still in bits after their POR treatment
Back from Ashover so a few pictures are in order I think... Great to meet everyone who made it there. My own little display... And a random selection of others... And thanks to those who contributed parts for the pink Tilley...
Yes was a good weekend again this year if a little damp on the Friday, sat sun made up for it. Lots of lamps all over the field people walking round in the evenings with their own lamps on the Tilley Lamp row you could smell the burning paraffin in the air at times great Few pictures here I took of some displays Apart from the lamps there was all sorts going on during the day and evenings highlight for some was the dog events Well my dog Tilly was entered and handler for the day was a young lad called Blake who was visiting for the day well made me well chuffed when they took a first prize rosett for the dog the judge would like to take home !!!! cheers pete
It was a great event and already I can't wait until next year. Great photos, Gneiss, what had you eaten before Pete took that photo?
Ashover was GREAT again, well done the organising team , and well done the tractor drivers bringing lots of caravans on site in the mud on Thursday and Friday . The sun came out and we had a great time. My pictures are much the same as the ones shown already, so no point in posting more, but must show this one Looking forward to next year. What a lovely relaxed show Ashover is. Thanks everyone. Steve.
A few more... The pink Tilley, although the picture doesn't really do it's pinkness justice. Sunglasses are required in real life! Probably my favourite exhibit... And it's lamp, which apparently blew out on the way to the pub.
