Hi, Someone on this forum said to me I won't stop at buying just one lamp, well I've just bought another two!! An Aladdin and this Austramax 3/300. I want to dismantle it but I can't get the pump end off. Does it unscrew or is it just push, push off? I've tried to unscrew it but its really tight. Also if anyone has an instruction manual that would be great. Thanks, Liam....

Appears to be the screw on type pressed pump cap hot air gun + thin oil around cap wrap with leather and grip with rounded jaw pliers shouldn't be too hard.
Some earlier 2/300`s had pressed cap with tiny self tapper each side and others had machined brass plug w/screws..

Give it a soak in a three to one mixture of transmission oil and acetone if nothing else works.

It screws off in the conventional way (anti-clockwise). Don't grip so hard you squeeze it out of shape.

1382006106-IMG_0712.jpg Ok, I've dismantled the lamp but can anyone tell me how to remove the needle. I assume the control block doesn't remove. Not sure if the unscrews or just pulls out. Thanks........

After much searching, The poor ole Austramax doesn't seem to have a info about it out there!!!
but I've got the needle separated. The block that it screws into has flat sides on it giving you the impression the needle is connected to it and you could use a spanner to unscrew it.
    Thanks, work in progress....... :D

I can send you a .pdf of the brochure that comes with the new lamps. It might be useful. PT me.

    Cheers

UPDATE: I've done a bit of work to this Austramax and its come up really nice. The fount was in bad shape with a lot of corrosion spotting as you can see in previous pics. bit of elbow grease got it up pretty shiny. Not quite as good as id like but good enough!!
Soaked all the bits in vinegar & Water (Thanks for the recipe Tony!)put it all back together (even the original pump leather just needed soaking in some olive oil) and its now working like a charm!!!
Its good to bring another old lamp back to life!!
