Here is a nice Australian Gloria lantern that, as far as I have find, not has it's model number definitely stated.
I looks similar to a Handi and has the same shape at the glass.
When I achieved this one it was painted in green. (why always this green colour?)
But when I started to remove the old painting I find the fount was in brass and also some fragments of the old colour. It was turquoise! And that is absolutely the original. Take a look at the bottom of this side.
But as it is hard to get the right nuance, I'll keep it clean brass for the future until I have something to compare with.

The lantern has 3 controls and a very ineresting design of the pre-heater. A thin tube with a number of slots cut out.

Now that is a lantern I like!
Either they shall be as simple as possible: A user.
Or they shall have as many gismos as possible: A true collectible...

... but funnily enough, these two criteria's never clash for me!
A good user can very well be a good collectible, and vice versa...

Three different wheels and levers, and a preheater of its own on top of that.
Pity it doesn't have an elaborated pressure gauge too...

Seriously though. I would really love to see that preheater in action. [-o<
It's always nice to see different solutions on some things.

That one is dated about 1940s
It also runs on shellite fuel .
Mine was also a green base but needed painting so has the brass look at the moment.
Also mine has a different preheat burner .
Terry has a few pictures of them on his site also .

As with a lot of Gloria stuff I can't give a real number to this. I have it listed in the PLC as Model W but that is just my designation and not the correct Gloria model. Interesting lantern. ::Neil::

So yours were green too! Why that colour on all lanterns? Trying to make it look like a Coleman?
I am glad I saw the more blue nuance so I can say that is the original colour.

As I said in antoher post, I usually don't start up all lamps but with this one I'll make a try. You are right Christer, a pre-heaer designed like this just have to be tested. I'll be back.
