Did Bialaddin bowlfire tanks ever have the larger filler cap?

I ask because I want to replace a bowlfire tank with a better one, but the replacement tank has the larger filler cap. I want it to keep it authentic if I can so if no such combination ever existed I probably won't bother with the swap...

I'll just use the tank to make a non authentic but nice looking lamp instead

I do not think that they ever had the larger filler cap. As I understand it, the 1-1/4" filler cap was a Military requirement for their Bialaddin lamps only. I could be wrong, and anyway, as I see it; unless you want a "collector's piece" it will not matter one iota. As a "user" it will be great, and most folk will never know the difference! Steve.

One of mine has the large filler cap but only because I swapped tanks due to a crack in the original. I suspect any others with a large cap will be for the same reason. Though it is a lot easier to fill the larger one if you don't have a funnel
