I like that. Not sure Coleman would appreciate the comment though. I actually don't like these although I do have one. Seriously bright light but they feel odd and way to complicated for me. Also I can see future fettling problems with these because of the complex variety of parts. ::Neil::

My first & last experience with a petrol lamp.

I could feel my arms trying to get longer with each spark of the piezo that didn't ignite the bloody thing! Think I palmed it off on some lamp nut.

Interesting to see such negative remarks about these.

Are they really as bad as is being implied? On what basis would you say this- 'Bomb' is a strong comment!

Are they instead possibly the final evolution of the pressure lamp, made by a highly respected manufacturer?

I think it is worth some elaboration...!

Personally, I'm not too keen on the fact that the pump doesn't lock down. Other than that, I'm reasonably happy with the build quality.

Perhaps "potential" bomb would be more appropriate. But I suppose that applies to any poorly maintained pressure lamp.

    Thanks Henry,

I thought the best way to compare was to buy one and see how it runs. So I now have a 1999 dated lantern which I'll post in revenue gallery with some comments (once I've taken some photos).
