Funny name. Farmor is the exact word, and spelling, for "Grandmother on the fathers side" in Swedish (Fathers mother=Farmor). It looks very strange as a name for a lamp to many of us. Or frankly for any thing except an actual grandmother on your fathers side... It would have been better to just spell it "Farmore" as the meaning of it was when reading the text: The name Farmor was a play on the words "Far" and "More"

There must have been many names made up from common words at one time, and maybe even now. FAMOS from famous, FARMOR from far more, and one I recall from an advertisement in an old engineering journal for drill bits: The ARDAZROCS - hard as rocks. Must be dozens of them!
