This is a very early Petromax 828 I was given from a friend. I took a lot of cleaning and bending to make it look nice enough for you guys. Here she is:
The bottom shows the scratched numbers 8 6 which stands for 8, august and 6, 1936. There it is also posible to see stresscracks luckyli only located to the bottom. So she will be a shelf-queen. Claus C
The first time I met the "Scratched Numbers", Martin K among others, helped sorting out the meaning of them and it is more and more clear that it actually is date-marks(not hickeys) and certainly worth paying attention. Hmm strange Martin - I just copyed it the usual way - but all 3 links is to be found here: http://0flo.com/index.php?posts/34912 Yeah a lamp from 1936 with that much dirt and slime in the tank must have had the jet changed more than once so someone put on a 350 though the tank is printed 300 CP Claus C
Along with this one, a 826 followed. I just cleaned her up halfway and found the numbers in the bottom to be 11 - 3-ish, so that makes the 826 a nowember 1933 or 1935 or 1938. But I will be back with that miserable lamp later Anyway a lamp starting with 11 shows it must be the month firs as Neil also says and the year afterwords. Claus C
