I bought this gas lamp from Germany, as I wanted to use the burner parts in one of my French lamps. I assume it was made by Bre, although the name seems to have worn off. Out of curiosity, was this lamp designed to run on gas only or could it be run on petrol? After I have taken the burner parts off I was thinking about sticking a light bulb in it and sticking it on eBay to get some of my money back - is that heracy :D

P.S. The seller says he has several of these so if anyone wants his details let me know.

I have seen systems like that on spanish fishinglanterns "often" before and they always misses the tank and the burner always misses some sort of preheating-tubes before it reaches the burner.
I also did see this lamp before on e-bay and had same thoughts as you about the Bre but I desisted because I got scared of the converting-scale.
Me myself would just hang it on the porch for the use of summernights with lambrusco getting lost in the eyes of my missy.

It was the burner nozzle that I was after and with shipping it was a bit of an expensive way to get the part but then they don't grow on trees.

Then again anything that runs on natural gas, can be made to run on propane. With a regulator and a smaller jet.
