I have somehow reversed the installation of the control knob on my Aida so that it is 180 degrees wrong. Before I go taking it apart again, can the collective wisdom of the forum save me some effort? I had it running smoothly this evening with a Pescador mantle, and I'm loath to crunch it
If I understand the situation correctly, you only need to undo the nut on the control shaft, slip off the control wheel and turn it 180 degrees. The shaft is not round hence you can't just turn it on the shaft when it is loose. That should do it.
Thank you! I just looked again and I hadn't touched the nut within the control knob. It's a mystery, and I'll take a closer look and try again in the morning.
A little sleep cleared my head, and I found the root problem. I had replaced the upper vapouriser assembly, and the needle shaft (101) was a tad too long for the new part. I had to tear down the vap assy to shorten the needle shaft a turn and all is PERFECT now. No links, sweet blue flame from the pre-heater, and my Liberty long-sock mantle is BRIGHT. Life is good
