Does anyone have any information about how the OL 50 used to be lifted and lowered into position originally. Obviously it was with a small block and tackle. However I would like to build a replication of the original system. I have seen some examples in the Reference Gallery however no old photo's of the process.

The OL 50 would not be running Bob if it wasn't for your excellent assistance in fabricating new seals and lead washers for the lamp. Thanks very much, its a very beautiful lamp that deserved to be restored. I understand that you have just finished restoring one as well. Have you got some pictures ?

Just finished restoring this one all that was required was a clean and new seals fitted and some gold paint on the feed tube.
