The 310 is my favourite of the Bialaddin/Vapalux range with the smaller rounded tank so I was quite pleased (and a bit surprised) to find I was the only bidder on this one on the bay, especially as it has the proper shaped globe which seem to be hard to come by now. Not bad for a fiver & postage I thought :D/

Should clean up well enough and make a nice lantern.

Yes, it too me a while to get a 310 having found the others in the range. Sadly mine doesn't have the original globe so I use one of the later globes...

Even sadder the tank on mine leaks like a sieve so it's currently a shelf queen :(

I have some Vapalux and Bialaddin lanterns, but the 310 has been one I have not been able to find in the condition I'm looking for.... Vapalux or Bialaddin lanterns are great! I like Tilley, too but there is some magic in the Vapalux/Bialaddin lanterns..

I thought it was worth buying just for the globe. Started cleaning it up today and it's looking better already. All the seals are shot and fell apart on disassembly. Went in search of replacements which I either don't have or can't find so an order has been placed with the Fettle Box. The search was not in vain though as it did uncover a further two 310s which I had forgotten I had.  Oh well. Too many lamps is still not enough!

Seals arrived today from the Fettle Box. Reassembled the lantern and did a dunk test. No visible leaks  :D/ Did need a new vaporiser though as the one it came with was over fuelling. Here's the test firing. Just need to dig out a mantle from somewhere. Probably don't have any but will find more lamps I didn't know I had.

Done a bit more with this. Initial plan was just to clean it up and keep it as a user but I thought it deserved a new paint job. Didn't want to keep the green though so did this instead.

These old tanks do come up nicely when repainted
