Well boys and girls it's nearly time again, if you are coming drop me a line so I have some idea of numbers to make sure we have enough room on the weekend. It's filling up nicely and your attendance is much appreciated to help make it great show and help raise money for the air ambulance. Hope to see you there
    cheers Stan :D/ :D/ :D/

    Thanks for the contact details.

I got the form and returned it. With SAE hopefully.

Not heard back yet so still waiting.

Is this just lamps or taking stoves too?

Will be taking the caravan and using an awning if thats the normal thing.

As well as lamps and stoves you can take your blowlamps, oil cans, old tools, soldering butts, stationary engine, water pump, generator, tractor, full size or miniature steam engine, 27 litre Rolls Royce Meteor engine, vintage car, lorry, caravan or bus etc.

Oh, and a few fairy lights, too...

Yeh well you know, there's the bunny or the teddy bear. Top of the caravan check list just above toothpaste and food.   Of course you realise I'm just kidding, it'll just be me the lamps and another bottle of sloe gin.   :D/

I have received my "Exhibitors Pass", woohoo!

It does say you can't move vehicles whilst the show is open and if you arrive after 6pm Friday you can be put in a hold over area. Not a big window of opportunity for me, working till Friday afternoon and may not make 6pm.

Is this usual? Can understand they do not want vehicles running over the public.

Also any security problems? If so what do you do about securing stuff.

    Not been an exhibitionist before.

Yes it's usual.... If you know you will be later then I would message Stan as there may well be some flexibility on the Friday night. It is however open to the public from 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm so it may just be that you have to wait until after that.

As for security it depends if you are camping or in a caravan. If it's the former then basically don't bring anything of value that you either can't keep with you or lock in the boot of your car, the same as camping anywhere else really.

If anything it is possibly a little more secure than camping solo as there are plenty of eyes and ears around...

Look forward to seeing you there

Not yet Ray, I only picked it up yesterday morning and it hasn't even seen a lamp yet so it's safe until a week next Thursday.  I wonder if it's fire proof? :-k

Haha, will you save me a spot this year, so I don't end up down the bottom. You won't have to walk as far for your gin either.

Set up next to me as it will give me more chances to sell you seal kits and maybe a lamp or stove.

I believe there's a whole "lamp section" this year so we may be in a different place anyway...

We are planning to arrive mid afternoon on Thursday so look forward to seeing you all.

Well it was certainly an eventful Ashover this year what with the gazebo being modified by the wind and then the car battery being flat when we went to leave.

Yet again a very enjoyable show though. A few pictures to follow later...

Well it was mine that went flat at Newark, so it'll be someone else next time.  I take it you found someone with jump leads to give you a start, or are you writing from the same place in the field.
