I just ran into a bloke who runs a second hand shop and he said he "had something for me". He was a bit pissed-off with himself because he had broken the globe, so he gave it to me for a very good price.

But what model do I assign to it? It had a handle once upon a time - or is it a radiator converted to a lamp)?

As far as I could make out from his decription it had the 'onion' rather than the 'tear drop' globe.

I believe you have hit the nail on the head. The fount in another life appears to have come from a heater. The hole at the base aligned with the screw is the same as my models as shown. The pressure gauge is also on the left but obscured by the handle in the photo.

But then again it might have been one of the model lamps with a handle. Hmmm curious

Hello Tony, it may just be a cobbled together lamp or it may have been a trackwork lamp at one time and the stand has been lost.

Is the tank made from brass or steel or a combination of the two?

If steel has been used in it's construction then it's a WW2., tank.

That lamp will be useful for spares though, Jeff.

I'll check the metal in the tank in the morning.

The top lug for the screw (see above) is not like all the other Tilley radiators I have, in so far as it is knurled, is of lower profile, and not domed at all. The pressure pip is also of low profile. Note that it has a 609 vaporiser.

Jeff asked: "Is the tank made from brass or steel or a combination of the two? "

    The tank is all brass.

Bob, Can you look at your lamp and see whether it has the same kind of screw lug as the one I have?

    Cheers

    Tony

    Tony.
Just checked mine and has the same lug as yours knurled and where screw goes in is recessed.
Just noticed the pump end is domed out also.
Also vent is white inside most of my Aussie ones are same colour inside and outside.
To date tank work out when domed pump handles came out ?about 40s maybe .

Mmmm. I wonder if that kind of knurled lug for the handle screw is a feature that can be used to sort the TL 14 tank from the Radiator tank?
