Please forgive me for posting this question again, but I am in search of a Nice 150CP lamp. This one has been presented to me as a 150CP Petromax. What can you tell from these two images?
Hey Haavar If there is no marks at all on the Hood or lamp and if the nametag is removed, then it could be a Hipolito 150, while the hipolito 150 is without name-tag on the Hood and tank. Geniol and Petromax also made this model and they are with a name-tag on top of the Hood. Hipolito used to write their name on the glass, but that could have been shiftet. There should have been a name-plate on the Cage, but people liking shine often removes them, d---f----, when using those small lamps as homegarnish. Claus C
Uh oh, I'm a home-garnisher I don't polish though! Well not much anyways.... What does the tank look like underneath?
Hi. Just to clarify - I have mot bought the lamp (and by the looks of it - probably will not either). Still - I am waiting for more info from the seller
It is hard to say if it is a 150cp or a 250cp lamp but the size of the parts in the photo it looks more like a 250cp lamp. It is as said previously probably a Hipolito build lamp, either a Hipolito, Geniol or Petromax. Michael
Oh Haavar I thought you had the lamp and wanted it identified. The close-up picture shows the nametag, so it is probably the Petromax if he writes so. A real user Claus C
In Denmark these small lanterns were usually sold as Santrax or Geniol brands. They all came from the Santrax factory anyway. The only difference between them was that the Santrax lanterns had red knobs and the Geniol had black knobs. There was usually a tag on the collar but these were often missing. After checking everything and setting them up properly they work well but are very fussy about fuel quality.
I am awaiting more photos. Sellee saus tjere is no dent - it id a photographic issue. Time will show. He says it is e "newer" 150CP no 630. Can not find any info about 630. Could it be the 830 China-lamp?
Haavar, if it's a smaller lantern then it looks similar to the . This type is sometimes referred to as "Geniol 830", but not all of them have this tag. BR, Martin
No dent? It is a quite large dent at the preheater. I hope he don't ask for to much for the lamp. A new tank cost €30 at Stuga-Cabana. Depending of if it is a Petromax, Geniol, Hipolito or Santrax it is made in the same factory either in Portugal or China depending of the manufacturing date. The model number is normally 830 of this model. Michael
I have compared my Geniol 150 with the photo and if you are lucky the "dent" might be an optical effect. If the seller says it is a Petromax we can assume it is. In that case it is manufactured after 2006. When Heinze distributed Petromax they sold the 150cp as their own brand Geniol. After Heinze's bankruptcy in 2006 the rights of the Petromax brand was sold by Schott to Pelam and Pelam started to sell the 150cp as Petromax 830 Rapid. Michael
Seiler has provided some more img, not of the rapid starter though. He hovewer did say there is no dent. Meantine I have found a NOS Geniol 150 at a reasonable price. Might be the better choice?
The lamps are identical except the name tag. The Geniol was manufactured before 2006 and the Petromax after that date. The Petromax is under production so that one will be easy to get but the Geniol will be harder to get. I think you should go for the Geniol. It is a NOS lamp so I guess that it is of resent Chinese manufacture but it could be older. In that case it might be made in Portugal. Michael
G,,day . there are a lot of similarities to a lantern I acquired today . made by Tingkwon rapid lamp "butterfly" "star " & "eye" brands . that info is from the instructions that came with it . kerry
