Yesterday we invited to dinner some friends with their children and we eat a barbecue I prepared, in the garden under the light of some lamps. I love to do so but I spent a lot of time preparing the lanterns because I didn't find the funnel and I had to replace a couple of Tilley mantles (here I have to do them with single tie mantles). Anyway it was great to share my lamps with them. Juan.

Thanks. It is ncie because the garden still hasn't got electricity and the only way is to do this. Not a Px but very close: the Aida 1233 I bought a couple of days ago and works fantastic. Optimus 930 and TL10 provided by Neil; Tilley BR bought through ebay still needs yellow paint. Juan
Juan, This is particularly fun because it involves your family with your hobby. The outdoors, family and friends, good food and special lighting are all good! I forgot the warm weather. It’s 10 degrees F and deep snow cover here in NH, USA. It would be out of the question here for now. Thanks for sharing with us. Peter

Yes, indeed. I know you have the snow now; very cold winter this year, eh? Yes, Jeff, I know but I remember it when I need the lamp and have no time. Thanks. And is not only a matter of time but right shape and size of the mantles too. Thank God, I work hard from monday to friday, from 8:30 to apporx 19 hs, but I don't work at all during the weekends so we usually meet friends or relatives on friday and saturday nights, but never during the week. Hi Juan: Great photo!! I am envious. We too have out door group meals, however my wife won't let me use my pressurized lanterns or lamps. She says that they blind everyone. I have to use my antique wick barn lanterns instead and hang them away from the table on which she only allows "tea" lights. Mike...
Well, I'd have to agree with your good lady, Mike. I'd be putting reflectors on any lanterns used on the table - or using table lamps with shades fitted. Mind you, some of our members here prefer to use w*ck and mantle lamps in these situations. No names, no pack drill... But tea-lights..?
Makes me anxious for warm weather and evenings out on the back deck. Nice use of the lanterns - what fun is it to collect if we don't actually use them 8)
