Hi all. I am looking for a number of new jets and cleaning needles for a Primus 1020. Four of each to be precise. I have found a company in Sweden that is recommend on this site however postage is over 40€. Over twice the cost of the goods themselves  . Could any member be in a position to offer advice or act as middle man maybe?

Have postage costs risen sharply in Sweden recently? I was recenty quoted 500 SEK (about £40) for shipping a lantern to the UK.

I have been quoted similar for lanterns. That may be some what acceptable but over €40 (+-35GBP) for 4 needles and jets?? They would fit into a padded envelope would they not

    That sounds a bit odd!
Are you sure they didn't misprint? Remove the zero and you'll get closer to the truth.
Even €4 would be too much, but you'd expect some extra fee for the handling.

To send an envelope of 100 grams abroad only cost 28 kronor, which just barely is €3.

I recommend you to ask the company if they perhaps mis-printed the cost, and if not, ask them what's the reason for the high cost.
Perhaps it's some silly insurance you could do without involved.
Perhaps they are using larger parcels for no reason except by default, and perhaps with express shipment.

Check with them, and I'm sure they can explain, and hopefully even rectify the price to a more reasonable level if you insist on a simple padded envelope.

I do not know which company you mean but I suspect that it is Fogas.
I checked in their webshop what the minimum postage in Sweden is and it was 99 SEK (€9).
I suggest you to do what Christer says and contact them by E-mail and ask them to make an exception and send in in a jiffy-bag.
If they do not want to do that you can contact me and I will try to help you.

My mistake  I must improve my Swedish, I misunderstood the cost of each item as the total cost and the total cost of needles/jet as postage for each. An amateur mistake  Apologies if I have offended anyone.
