This past September was a gathering of a bunch of us "Lanternheads" for a 3 day festival of fire, fettling, food, and fun! Held at Steve Cullins' hand built log cabin in Hannibal, NY. Yours truly never turned a wrench. My duties were to man the smoker to cook beef brisket and pork shoulder for 14 hours. Can you say DEE LISH? On Saturday night we had a record total of 186 lanterns and lamps lit. My "contribution" was a pair of 132A table lamps and 7 lanterns. Paled in comparison by all the others that brought appliances to light up. Our gracious hosts Steve and Cathy provided us with a fabulous venue for this event. Many images, not enough space. Some seen here. Bob
Hi Juan, Cable? More like CABLES. There were three. One was 150 ft long stretched with a chain fall so it didn't sag. A bucket full of "S" hooks. It was so bright at one point that flash wasn't needed to take photos. The running jokes were "I wonder if they can see us on the Int'l Space Station?" or "What do you suppose our "carbon footprint" is right now?" "How many do we have?" was heard. Next thing you know Steve would be pulling lanterns out of his cabin to light. He has a LOT OF THEM in there. We had Coleman radiant heaters lit, military blowtorches, you name it. From Aida to Yale and everything in between. Table lamps, a Coleman PQ chandelier, I had my LeaAkron enclosed bracket lamp hanging off a tree. A half dozen inverted "donuts". Shown here is just a sample of the fuel that was expended. Bob
