Hi, I have a Vapalux Halifax 300x lamp that has no date on the top rim (where the rest of my military lamps are all date stamped. It has a steel tank with a pressure tit, with an early type brass Meths burner heater cup, with a late War hood ? I'm not sure how old it could be ... Could it be post war or is it a civilian type ? When did Vapalux stop dating their lamps Kind regards Mark
Hi Mark I am sure one of the many experts here will be able to help answer your questions (I am afraid I can't) however, a picture paints a thousand words. Not to mention we are generally a nosey bunch and always like to see another members lamps. Regards, Jeremy
Hi Jeremy, Thanks for the reply :-) I will do my best to submit some pics ! I.T isn't my strong point lol ... But defiantly a picture paints a thousand words. Speak soon, Mark
Vapalux began making lamps in 1940 which included a pressure tit but they dropped it in 1942. It was re introduced in about 1945 but I think that was only on a brass tank. ::Neil::
That's interesting! So if your theory is correct then my lamp is possably an early ish 300x :-) Thanks for your help Neil !!! Regards Mark
Hi Mark, You really should post a pic otherwise it is just guesswork...you describe the lamp as a Vapalux 300x with a steel tank. Vapalux 300x lamps had brass tanks....Cheers
