Advice please. Have just been given a TL106 base, sans parts. It has been compacted and outlet pipe is hard against the base blocking off the tube end. Is there a way that I can have it repaired and pulled back out.

It's difficult to be sure without examining the tank or even seeing it, but from what you say it sounds scrap to me...

Couple of pictures. Any advice will be much appreciated. There is a local engineering business, who could probably do the job if ideas forthcoming.

If you are sure it is this and not just a blocked tube:

You could try sealing it up and presurising it. You never know,it might just pop back out enough.

Either that or get a bar/dowel with a rounded end, poke it through the filler hole and just apply enough pressure on the bar to push the bottom back out slightly.

Yep, I'm kind of wondering where the compaction is - what I can see of the tank looks pretty normal to me. Maybe a slight knock on the base rim but nothing to worry about...

I think I can see that the top has been pushed down a bit. Perhaps if you can grip the stem in a vice gently and then pull on the base wiggling it side to side. Might just work. :-k

Yep, I see it now. Two people might be able to pull that out...

That sounds like a good idea. Not able to do it myself but will take it to someone who might be able to do it for me. Have found an old electric light fitting that can screw into the top, so just need a nail or screw with it and it could be a solution. Thank you.
