Looks that way - glad my little boat is safely ashore for the winter :)

I know gales and even storm force winds aren't uncommon in the far North particularly on the Western coasts but this one could potentially turn quite nasty...

I'm down south in Essex, but beware - I seem to attract bad weather...

Got weather-bound for three nights in Calais this summer while sailing with a mate, and last December, myself, wifey' and the dog :) were marooned in our room for the night on the first floor of a pub in Norfolk - the tide just kept on coming until it was knee deep in the bar!

It was quite exciting but I felt for the owners and staff at the pub. It was a strange evening, visualise yourselves sitting eating fish & chips and supping a pint - while watching the tide come in across the floor of the pub!

It's fearsome weather here in Shetland, but that is not unusual, Jeff.

Once again God's own County, Aberdeenshire, has avoided the worst of the weather. Quite a chill wind blowing all day, some rain and sleety snow showers when out and about but really nothing to complain about. There's bound to be worse to come.

Kincraig (Highlands) had mild weather last week, then Spean Bridge had snow, but none in Kincraig. Then Sunday saw a couple of inches of snow in Kincraig, and the Monday coach from Aviemore ran on white roads through Dalwhinnie, roads black South of Pitlochry, but fine views of white topped hills.

11hrs on a National Express - not recommended. Never again.

It's still hellish weather here, there was thunder and lighting this morning along with everything else and the power went of twice today, Jeff.

Hello Matt, this morning my breakfast was cooked on a pressure stove and the kitchen was lit by a pressure lamp and the kitchen became so hot that I had to open a window! Jeff.

Hello Claus, yes, it's rough all over, but at least it's the time of year for it, Jeff.

We've only had lots of rain and a rather stiff wind so no problem so far. About time it starts freezing!

I have to feel sorry for this poor little weather bouy just to the west of you Jeff... http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/marine-observations/#?tab=last24hoursMarine&marineLocId=164046&fcTime=1418256000

The wind and seas seem to be building again...

Earlier this week one of the bouys was measuring 15.7 meter waves, that's over 50ft in English and in all that time these little things continue to send back data.

I wouldn't want to be on one of the lightships in the channel right now  Although they are normally unmanned...

12 inches in Kincraig as of yesterday, and still snowing. Clear blue skies and frost in Shropshire. Wild winds and sleet a couple of days back.
