These photos show a Coleman 220-F lantern which has been converted to run on paraffin/kerosene.

Stu restored and converted this lantern   :D/  :D/  and it's part of a trade which we are having.

I shall add photos of it lit later on, Jeff.

Nice! Which generator does it use? Is it much of a wiggle to get spirits into the cup?

Hello Al, Stu converted the generator and perhaps he will add a reply and give a description of it.

I use a Coleman meths bottle to fill the meths trough.

Here are two photos which show the lantern lit and it works very well, Jeff.

Very good, Jeff. Stu is a handy guy!

For my own 220 conversions to kero/paraffin, I took the spring from a Coleman 201 generator and
the gas tip and pricker rod from a common 200A gen.
These things are straight swap-out items, and fit right into the 220 generator tube.
This is the way some of the other Coleman guys do it, too. Some use the stock 220 gen, but remove the
cardboard damping tube. I have found swapping out the mentioned items makes a better runner, in
    my opinion.

Thanks one and all and i'm glad that it's of interest.

Hello Dean, your conversion method sounds similar to what Stu did, Jeff.

    Hi Gents

Dean/Jeff, that's exactly what I did except I made an internal heat transfer spring out of heavy duty copper wire ( which i carefully coiled on a former in the lathe ) to the same spec as a Coleman type , the gas tip is a 200a like you stated & if my memory serves a 200a pricker all in a 220 generator , an easy & really effective conversion to kerosene , the lamp strip however was a real bugger!!!

The spirit cup was a homemade one off!

    Stu.

Well fettled, Stu! I'm curious to know what the service interval will be for that generator running on paraffin. I hope Jeff will give us feedback in due course.

Being in the states, I have a pile of these 220's. Time to convert a few to kerosene, as it is 1/2 the price of Coleman fuel!!

Now I have to find those spare 200a generators!
