    Hi everyone : )
I´ve been registered for a while, but I believe this is my first post here. Been active at the CCF, and lurking in the shadows here. :content:

Here´s the thing. I got a Tilley PL53 which I need a burner for. So I purchased the only burner I found at eBay, which is for the X246B. I figured I could replace the air tubes, so that the air buttons could be used with the new burner. I bought NOS air tubes, but the ones I bought was way too large. I bought 709 for old style 218 burner.

So, before buying yet another 3 wrong ones, can someone piont me to the right ones? I presume the air tubes for the PL53 are compatible with the "new" burner? And I also presume they are possible to buy?

I have often fitted the old style of air tubes to the modern Tilley burner and they have always been the correct size.

Could you have bought Vapalux/Bialaddin air tubes by mistake?

I do not know of a source for the unused old style Tilley air tubes, but someone else may.

I think the part you are after is this:

    http://www.base-camp.co.uk/tilley.html

Old SP2 Threaded air tubes #709 and bushes #2200 for Guardsman, table & wall lamps etc. Will convert modern burner to old style for use in table lamps etc. £16.95

However could do with photos of your burner and air tubes to be sure. Here's a picture of a X246B burner with an air tube from an old burner on it.

Incidentally if you want the old air tubes they're yours for the cost of postage. The inner threads are pretty burned but they do screw in. I have the third one around somewhere.
