The next time you look at your collection you'll have another 5, and then you be wondering..?how did that happen? I started with one Aida lantern given to me a little over 2 years ago and now have around 15 lanterns all different models and brands. (And about 20 or so stoves) And probably just as many I have On sold. You soon learn which ones are worth getting and their $$ worth. I would say if you find a lantern check this site first to see how rare or common it is and of course, if you don't have one in your collection get it... As long as the price is right.... Another thing I have learnt it pays to be selective when it comes to quality and condition and what it comes with. Good luck on finding more... see you on the auction site
Mharron are you a kiwi too? The lantern got posted today Hope to have her tuesday (Anzac day will slow things down)
I actually managed to walk past two Tilleys the other day without buying them... Unless they are in absolutely perfect condition I'm concentrating on less common (at least in the UK) lamps now.
Christchurch here I have a cupboard and a sleepout I now have a couple of tidy tilleys and a couple of roughies Im happy for now
Long time and no posting.. I apologise. Well I have 2 of my lamps running.. one X246 and an X246B! I took em away last weekend after complete overhauls. Happy Days! I WILL get the others going too.. Thanks for the advise guys
Trevor, those are from a third party image posting service. (Actually an auction site in this particular case.) And also a good example why we only allow uploaded pictures in the reference sections of the site, which we want to keep future proof.
Yeah the pictures were from trademe, an auction site here in NZ. This is one that has not been fired up in 40 years! Im ordering some more bits from the fettle box next week
