Surely, this is a Coleman? :)

This lamp was advertised as a Coleman. Ok, so I messed up with the previous one I wanted identified. Surely though even I can't get this wrong. The seller says it's a Coleman, the box say's it's a Coleman and the decal say's it's a Coleman.

It's probably an Aladdin knowing my luck. :p

The seller says it has never been used and she bought it more than 10 years ago. The box states 214A700. Has this model been around for sometime and will it have date stamps?

I've agreed to $50 for the lamp. My son loves 4 wheel driving and I thought I could give it to him - as long as he brings me back a fish next time he is off trying to beat the crocodiles to a fish dinner.

    Thanks.

Hello Matty, yes, it's a Coleman 214A700 and it's a fairly modern lantern and the link below shows the relevant page, Jeff.

    Thanks again Jeff.

For $50 and close enough to pick up, I can't go wrong. If my son doesn't want it I'll put it on ebay - unless it has a brass tank. Does it? :)

I just thought about that I said the lamp was close enough to pick up. It's actually 1,000 miles away but as luck has it my son will be in the next suburb from it tomorrow. He will bring it back with him.

Hello Matty, that lantern probably dates from the 1990's, so the tank will be made from steel, Jeff.

Sounds like your son was also within a km of my place!

I suspected a regular on this site was plundering the local stoves, now someone else is plundering the local lanterns!

    hello

When you receive the lantern check the bottom. You will find the date stamp there. I have one of these and it's a real nice lantern, no need to pump like hell to get it to light, fill the alcohol cup let it burn down to almost empty (about 30 seconds)and light!
    Enjoy!

    Thanks George.

I've just seen another Coleman advertised that has been used for one week of camping. It has a plastic carry case, spare this and that and they want the princely sum of $20.
