    A recent find.

The strange thing about this Kayen - Kopsen HR11 radiator is that the fount is steel. I have several other steel Kopsens but not with the full length bottom skirt.

The pic below is to show the bottom skirts of a Nettlefold HR11, a kopsen AP2, this Kopsen HR11 and a brass Kopsen HR11

I was unaware of these steel long skirt Kayens until now. Any one else know anything about them. And should we expect to find a steel HL7 some day?

Very good find, Anthony! I've not seen one like it yet.

    Cheers

Nice find. This is new to me, for both reasons. I have never heard of a steel tank Kayen radiator and I hadn't really thought of the difference in skirt height before either. I have just checked the photos of the three steel AP2 lamps I have and they are all the shorter skirt. Still long enough to distinguish them from a Nettlefold but not the normal height of a brass Kopsen. Very interesting.

Funny thing about collecting lamps, you can go for ages not seeing a certain brand or model then all of a sudden they are almost falling at your feet. As I said above this is the first of its kind I have seen or heard about but I bought another since last night and have heard of yet another.

Another interesting question is why are these Kopsen Kayens turning up in Victoria? Of course some must have migrated during the years but you would expect to see a majority of Nettlefolds.
