This is the H301 Normal Hipolito lamp, the same series as the H201 Normal. Also with original package. Probably used only once. It is also in very good condition.
Very nice, especially with the original box. It's very good to see all the detail photos you include. This is great for reference.
Those are pictures & a half, of a fine & dandy lantern, truly gorgeous; it'd be nice if these were falling out of the trees (less the damage, obviously ) ! The original box also, most scrumptious indeed; is there any chance you could measure the dimensions of the globe please ? I'm searching for a replacement for a Hipolito H502's why I ask and was wondering how low in candle power the Hip's go, before the globe reduces in height & diameter ? Thanks for posting the images, well smart is that (I want one) !! Jon.
Jon, your 500 c.p. H502 (with rapid pre-heater) will use the same size glass as Rui's H301 (without rapid pre-heater - same as most lanterns this size i.e. P/max, Aida, Optimus and Chinese etc. copies. 250 c.p. are smaller and 150 are tiny by comparison. Henry.
Well Henry, I go to me own back yard (he he) ! I have only just seen your advisory response with the Hip's globe size stat's, ta for that. I am still finding all the needed replacement seals & washers yet, but I would really like to see if I can pay a glass specialist to polish out the other few scorch smudges that are still left on this original Hip's globe. I have made a better difference to the burns, by using some Bar Keepers friend & some OOOO wool (it took ages, over 4 hrs at it, ect); but it still is noticeable, I don't like it, it must be vanished ! I keep checking for Hip globes all over Europe in eBay, there's either original 150cp's or blanks that are clone P/max copies, some with Suprax on and others like Brytlite, ect. It's a curse being pedantic, but I'll just keep searching for a cure, either finally ridding the damage myself, or landing lucky with a new but original Hipolito globe. Difficult to even show the damage, camera shot wise, but as the rest of the lantern is going to be a special looker (again), the globe must lead for the front source. I have some photo's to take of a quite unusual M320 hood I picked up recently, I have two now & the other is being stripped of nickel ATM; when they're both finished & buffed up like a button, I'll load them to see if any one else has ever seen one. They'll possibly not be too rare, I just don't know (brass really, but LOOK like gold now, ha ha) I'm still at it with others also, I went overboard with the Bialaddin/ Vapalux lamps & am still knee deep in them (really like 'em, made well, ect) .. . Ok, cheers then H Jon.
