Discovered this museum whilst googling. Surprised it hasn't been mentioned before, I can't imagine there are many museums with 13000 lamps on display. Have a look at the website. Link
Gee Whizz. That puts my piddlely collection of 450 plus to shame then . Hate to do the dusting and polishing then . So to fill them that's 13000 litres of fuel. Just imagine trying to fill and light them . By the time you got half way maybe the first one has run out of fuel . Bob .
Oh, but it has! I just can't remember in which context. I specifically remember that oversized lantern.
This is what could happen to you!!! . Information Starting out as a hobbyist collecting old items about 40 years ago, Narong Yusuksuwan, a scrap-metal dealer, has opened his private Yusuksuwan Museum to showcase his beloved collections in Muang District of Prachin Buri.
Thats awesome Matthew . What a fantastic idea and then bringing it to life in that scale. Respect. We ought to find out who the creator is and make him honorary member of the CPL. I bet he will say yes. It wouldnt be so hard to build such a lamp-house in smaller scale for ex. greenhouse in the garden back home Missy would love it If it wasnt for I just finished my greenhouse then I would Claus C
I imagine if Neil, Kenny Connolly and a few others from CPL combined their collections it might even be more impressive than this!
oops, but how many different lantern are there ? I would be very fast bored while staring at the ceiling ! Not so good for the neck either.
Someone seems to know what they are doing with quite a few working lanterns among the photo's Found this through a link to their f/book pages . The Tilley? Chandelier caught my eye and would be a job to pre-heat and light (is that 24 lamp heads ?)
