I found it in a Lisbon fleamarket. It was not pretty but it was funny to pump it and see that it gains pressure easily. I've decided to buy it and restore it. Here it is now in perfect working conditions. New glass, new label, new disc label, new top.
Yes. It was replated here in Portugal. Coleman lamps are very difficult and rare to find in Portugal. Buy it for 10€ was an opportunity that I've decided to take. The initial objective was to buy it to have some spares for restoring sth that I could find later on, simmilar to this one. After some search on Internet I found that it is a kind of rare model from 1971, similar to one that was made for Canadian Pacific Railway, probably powerful and reliable, and I've decided to restore it. I had to import the parts from Cananda and US and perform the metal parts restore locally. It took 3 months and sth like 150€. The final result is not bad and it works perfectly. Great output. Easy to light and to operate it. A bit different from our "Hipolitos" (Petromax clones). I would say that this Coleman 639 is better and stronger than "ours"... ;-) Regards
