Hello! I just purchased this lantern from a small local shop and was hoping to learn about this piece. How to or if it should be restored and value. Any info would be helful! Trying to figure out how to take apart.

    Hi Kendall
The 930 comes apart easily, the handle is sprung so just pull it apart and then you can lift the top off.Lift the globe off to avoid damage.
After that remove the burner Assembly. If it is stuck carefully prise it away from the frame.
One single screw holds the frame to the tank, remove that and you are left with the vaporiser and control valve.
Hold the control valve by placing a 13 mm spanner on the flats of the valve and unscrew the large nut which secures the vaporiser and carefully lift it away from the valve,
or if you want you can unscrew the control valve complete with vaporiser, but you will have to remove vaporiser eventually if you need to service it.
Unscrew the pump nut and take out the pump assembly.
If you need to remove the non return valve you will need the special tool to do so,which you can buy or make one up quiet easily.
That's it one 930 in pieces, I hope this helps

    Wonder spanner...Trevor

I tend not to dismantle any more than is necessary.
Give it a good clean over, remove old fuel from tank flush with clean fuel.
Pump up, hold underwater to check for leaks (tape plastic over pump to stop water ingress)
If all is ok preheat and light with no mantle to test.

Thank you for info. I was able to remove globe to clean it and lightly wiped the dust from it. Kinda scared to remove more parts.

    Hi Kendall,
It depends on how far you are prepared to go with your refurbishment.
It is no good doing half a job,to do the job properly you will need to dismantle the lamp completely providing you have the confidence to do so.
    Kind regards.....Trevor

    Hi Kendall,
    That's ok.
The 930 is a superb lantern and burns nice and bright with the correct mantle fitted, and will probably out perform some that have a higher cp rating.

    Cheers .......Trevor
