    Thanks Mike, I was a little concerned as well hence I did a short burst and low voltage. Still don't think I will do it on anything of real value

    Had a go at my Hasag Hurricane lantern. This is what it looked like when I first got it. Heavy surface rust

    After a day in a citric acid wash. Still signs of significant surface rust (was oiled after a rinse and dry)

    After about 28 hrs in electrolysis tank. All heavy corrosion gone. Still some black spots, nice and smooth. This was rinsed, a light wire brush and then oiled with lanolin. I was going to paint it but I think this looked better. You can make out the makers markings a lot better

    The skip!!! That's where I saved it from....... If it wasn't a Hasag then yep in the skip. This one will sit in the shed gathering dust looking on in envy at all the pressure lanterns in my display cabinets.....
