    Hi guys
    I have a lovely Petromax CP500
From new it had a mantle and a spare when the first needed replacing I tried an Anchor one - (I brought a few dozen from the bay cheaply)that is suppose to be for this lamp - it was not as bright as the original but worked I have replaced it again and the mantle just went very black ... Possibly I turned on before hot enough ? Anyway I have just put on the last genuine Petromax mantle I have and it is working perfectly
So my question what are others using on this lamp ?
Any links or tips greatly appreciated

    Thanks
    Simon

I have used the Pearless 111, moved then to the Petromax Helox. The Petromax Helox is the newest mantle to the market and it is thorium and asbestos free. It's brightness matches that of the peerless in my opinion. It forms a sock like shape rather than a bulb.

Just curious... why does it have to be a British based site?
A mail order is a mail order and work just as well regardless where you buy it, domestic or not.

Nothing against ordering from Germany ....just I don't speak or read German .... And want to be sure I am ordering what I think I am
I guess postage will be more ?
Thought it would be easier to get a more local supplier
    Cheers
    Si

I got my Helox from here.
Very fast delivery and quite excellent mantles.

You could try and learn a bit of German;) It is the most spoken language in Europe after all!! Guys at Hytta and Starklichttechnik can both deal with you in english. Or just open the sites through google chrome
