The picture where it is for sale is much clearer. Actually on second look, no it isn't.

I've been told it's a railway lamp so that means it probably isn't ;)

My money is staying in my pocket on this one.

I'm not saying it's a fake but the handle setup looks wrong from any other LT that I've seen a picture of, but of course it could have been changed at a later date. And it's a bit new for my taste.

I was just talking with a bloke whom said he has seen them in black and also red. He did say it was a later model.

The arm coming out of the tank on mine comes out flat where this seems to bend downwards. They are a pretty solid connection and I think if you were to try and bend them down the connection would give way. So my bet is not a London transport one.

    Nice lamp all the same.

No, I have two already, both of the 'standard' pattern. They're probably shown in the gallery - 'Soup Baby' and, er, the other one...

This one looks 'wrong' in a number of respects, particularly the handle (both parts - metal and wood), the reflector attachment and the fuel feed pipe.

This is a Wrong one. There aren't any "Later" models because these were made not long before the Kings Cross fire and they were all scrapped out. The handle is wrong but what really gives it away is the globe cage. That is actually an earlier type with the middle ring which gives the lie to "A later Model". ::Neil::

A later Tilley model is what I believe he meant, not whether this was first second or third etc of it's kind.

Still, I'll let the bloke know he's spreading porkies.
